Happy New Year!

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Happy New Year peeps!

Oh wait. Hold on. Is it May Already?!? (Omigosh!)

*Blushes*

Was so busy did not even notice time flies... real fast! Been an eventful start of the year so far.

Random holiday morning where I wake up super early (even earlier than when I'm supposed to go to work!) coz someone had to leave town to head down South for whole lot of fun (jealous mode on) and I thought might as well catch up with my HKD drama which I missed out for almost and entire month!

Going to have some salmon sashimi goodness later (oh nyums!). Lemme show you what I mean!

Oh nomnomnom...
Quick updates (wanna catch a few winks before salmon time!)

February was tulips for Valentine! Had a quiet day. Lepak-ed and had a simple teocheow porridge for dinner.
Yay! Tulips!
March was mostly work. Don't wanna post here.

April was pretty eventful. Started with a 3 year anniversary dinner at Marinis!
Yummers (but super mahal) dinner at Marinis!
Then... decided to "reward" myself with...
The portable instax printer!
We also did a baby shower for a friend (popped a cute baby girl already!)
Pink for girl!
And... a much long awaited beach holiday (Now I can wear the flip-flops Pandora charm!)... This was a beach in Kuantan when I was waaaaaaay younger...
A younger me...
And now, upgraded (a bit lah) to...
BORACAY! Best beach holiday ever!
Not that I have been to many beaches... But first time out of the country beach lah...

Hmmm... ok... blog updated. Now I'm gonna zzz for a bit before salmon time! Toodooloos!

From London to Paris and back to REALITY (Part 3)

Monday, August 05, 2013

Ok. I hope that this will be the last installment of my London - Paris trip. Phew! So, from London, we took the Eurostar to Paris... all in 2 hours!

Mini UJ enjoying his Eurostar ride...

We stayed (shit I forgot the name of the place) which was near the river and also central to almost everything Paris... the next time we come to Paris, will look for accommodation around this area too...

The river... nais...

The first evening we arrived, we walked along the river banks... a very nice place to just stroll along and have a picnic, or even just having wine with friends... in the cool crisp air...

Mini UJ with us sitting by the river bank.

The first evening we arrived, we walked along the river banks... a very nice place to just stroll along and have a picnic, or even just having wine with friends... in the cool crisp air...

Love carvings made into a nice tree art, but kelian lor the tree...

Wanted to go to the Lourve that day (as it was a free Sunday) but by the time we got there it was already closed from entering... so we moved on to Notre Dame instead. Promised Boo that we will go to the Lourve the next day lah, even though need to pay for it.

The Lourve - Remember this from the Da Vinci Code movie?

I noticed from visits to St. Paul's Cathedral (in London) and also at the Lourve, they have all replaced the curators to digital... although it's pretty impressive (St. Paul uses iPod Touch and Lourve uses the Nintendo DS XL) it then makes it impersonal as opposed to someone explaining to you in detail, especially if the guide does not give any additional guide.

The super hi-tech Lourve Guide!

The next day was the rest of the Paris must-do sightseeing... and of course, the infamous Eiffel Tower! But we did not go up this time, for the interest of time. In my checklist the next time we come!

Standing majestically amongst greens and blues...

Mini UJ trying its best to terrorise the tower! Epic fail!

Caught this drama ad when we were at Champ de Elysees

We also took this opportunity to be like all other tourists and love locks suckers, to have our padlock "locked" onto this famous Pont des Arts bridge.

Lotsa lurve...

So, we "locked" our love - apparently lah! :D

Our lock dressed in pink! :)

Well, our stay in Paris was short. Too short to go to every tourist spot and spend more time exploring. The next time, we gonna spend a longer time in Paris doing things we never got to do the first time round.

And so we close this three-post chapter and it's now back to the harsh reality of life and work and other stuff.

I'm still getting the withdrawal syndrome from this trip! Arghhh!

From London to Paris and back to REALITY (Part 2)

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

The blogging bandwagon has temporarily abandoned me as reality of life and work hit hard the past couple of months. The dust has finally settled for now and I think I better just finish up the rest of my London and Paris trip... in Insta-mmary version.

Did some Monopoly stops. Yes. I actually dug out my Monopoly set at home and brought along the deed cards with me. Boo said I was crazy and actually shook his head in disbelief when he saw me took them out when we were in London. He also rolled his eyes when I asked him to take the few shots with my S3 but he helped anyway!

Euston Road. Actually pretty near our hotel.

The Angel Islington. Where Boo's 'hood use to be.

Regent Street. Where the posh and not shops till they drop.

Oxford Street. Where the shops to go to are.

Vine Street. Found this by chance. Was a bit hidden.

One of the days we scheduled for some London sights, was apparently a good sunny day, a combination of sun and cool breeze. Did not do much Instagram shots (saving S3 battery power) so here's the few from London Eye.

London Eye on a bright sunny day. Shot from the river cruise.

Boo and I on top of the London Eye!

Pardner in shopping crime.
But I not as shopaholic. Haha!

Slushies on the grass! Boo couldn't resist.

Later on the same evening, we made our way to The Shard. A new building in London - almost equivalent to KL's Twin Towers.

The Shard. Looking up from the 72nd floor.

The Shard. View of London from the 72nd floor.
Some other stuff we did as well as random walkabouts in between, discovering interesting stuff and shots.

Watched "The Chorus Line". Last minute decision.
Highly recommended!

Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross. Just had to do the tourist thing.

Mini #UJ and I walking the streets and markets of London.

Pretty tulips in the park.

Shadows.

Love this composition. Some random place in Liverpool.

Must admit. This was the best hot chocolate so far.

Apparently, Boo said that this stuffed woogie was sleeping
in the same position when it was still alive. Creepy!

Hot mocha before Iron Man 3.

I like! Tulips in flower boxes doubling up as your wheel's parking.

Cannot resist! Chinese roast meat in London.

Pretty flowers. Almost felt like I was in Japan.

Random. Someone's garden.

Yummers brunch at Angel. The Breakfast Club.

Shopping was one of the agenda as well. No specific objective on what to buy. Just got stuff that cannot get back at home.

Bought wands! Mine's Hermione. Boo's Snape.

Bought this random choo-choo train
brooch in the markets of Angel. Pwetty.

Bought milk bottles in tray. Coz it was cheaper
and prettier than what I can get back home for.

Primark shopping. Best place to get souveniers.

Blaming Mama-D for a new obsession!

See what I mean?!? So pwetty!

Result? A new polka-dot bag!

Sainsbury student meal ticket.
How I wish Malaysia has this too.

I love it here! Check out the shelves in Sainsbury!

Cakes! Keeping you calm.

Cakes! Web-slinging ones.

Cakes! Specially thinking of Mama-D!

Cakes! Pretty the cake it was.

Cakes! Vrooommm! Vrooommm!

Saw this in one of the weekend markets. Cool right?

So tempted to get this for someone,
but the price tag was a wee bit too steep.
Hmmm... that's almost all. Oh! Met up with an old friend while in London!

Saw hello to Rustam! It's been good seeing you again!

And one more last one from UJ and his new friend Pillo-Woogs...

New BFFs!

I think I will blog about Paris in part 3. This is already too picture-heavy. And I did not put a day-to-day summary!
