My Chinese New Year weekend

February 13, 2008

It's that time of the year again, where everyone decks in red and gold to usher in the New Year. What? New Year has passed? No-ler... Chinese New Year la... and this year we are saying bye-bye to piggy and hello to mousey.

So, to start off - On CNY eve, Mum, Mel and I went to the Wat Chetawan temple off Jalan Gasing to pay our respects to papa and grandpa.

Left for Teluk Intan from the temple. Reached in good time, after about 2 hours drive. Very very good time. That evening, went to a Chinese Association temple to pay our respects to "Ah-Kong", Mum's dad.

Dinner photos? Too hungry and busy eating to take any. But, have some photos of us celebrating Isyam's 24th birthday. That cake was driven up all the way from Taipan, Subang by yours truly.

Everyone seems to be in red.

Later that night, went looking to Teluk Intan's super famous Chee Cheong Fun. After some directions from Abang Endi, we (Isyam followed me) manage to find the factory. Imagine! Going to a CCF factory at midnight to buy CCF! And look! We're not the only ones...

This is the queue that first night.

Kinda cool!

This is the queue for the second night. This time, Jenuka-ka followed us coz she wanted to see and know.

Third night queue. Outrageous! We left after about 15 minutes of queuing. Thevindran a-neh just don't have the patience! Hahaha!

This is my nephew, Ari Xuen. He's now almost 2 years old. Look how big his eyes are. Ari is 1/4 Indian and 3/4 Chinese.

We went to Penang on the 3rd day of CNY to be with papa's side of the family. Did not take any nice photos there. Simply too lazy by then. As usual, just HAD to go to the Feringghi pasar malam to buy some dee-vee-dees and also other cutesie stuffs. Loved it so much that we went there 2 nights in a row.

Left Penang on Monday (to avoid the mad rush back) and stopped by Bukit Merah for a while to hang out with Uncle and Aunty Teja. Check out Prince's antics looking for iguanas at the lakefront.

Happy Chinese New Year!
